By the end of
2006, Wenzhou’s fixed-line phone exchange capacity had expanded to 4.7982 million
lines with users up to 3.7396 million and mobile phone users numbered 6.8163 million.
At the end of 2006, the users of Wenzhou Branch of China Mobile Pho-
ne Corporation topped 5 million with mobile phones reached 306.1 sets / hundred
households. Meanwhile, fixed-line phones tot-
aled 167.9 sets / hundred households. The digital mobile phone service covered all
the city’s area including remote villages and the international roaming service
are available to 206 countries and regions. By the end of 2006, Internet-registered
subscribers had come to 980,500, including 759,500 broadband subscribers and 79,000
non-registered.
